Basketball is played in the activity programmes in the Juniors; however, in the Senior School the boys that are part of the Senior Sports Programme can choose to train and compete in the team. The team trains three times a week, which is equivalent to the major sports. The sessions take place in the Sports Hall which contains a full size basketball court.
The team competes in a number of fixtures throughout the first two terms, with the Summer Term being used as a development period within the Summer Sports Programme. The team plays in a number of friendly fixtures against other schools and we enter the Scottish Schools Cup which is organised by Basketball Scotland annually. We also host the Abe Wood Blitz competition early in September.
