Pippa axon Bursar
I was first employed as a Bursar at Cargilfield School, where over the course of five years I learnt that being a Bursar involves wearing multiple hats and learning to juggle: Jack of all Trades, Master of None! This was excellent preparation for Merchiston where everything is on a bigger scale (with significantly less pink and glitter).
I joined Merchiston in 2017, and despite the daily challenges that come with my role, I can say with my hand on my heart, that I love my job. Merchiston is a special place to work: beautiful campus and buildings, friendly staff and wonderful boys who continue to impress me on a daily basis, so much so, that my youngest son joined Merchiston for V Form in August 2018.
Sadly (or not?) the role of Bursar dictates that Merchiston demands a significant amount of my time. That said, when I do have time away, I like to spend quality time with my three children, husband and dog.
